Why teams choose Gotham
Built for large firms
Shared matters, roles and ethical walls. SSO, SAML and SCIM. Firm workflows, playbooks and a library of agent skills. SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and data stored in your own country. Gotham Pro is priced with your firm.
An agentic citator for Indian law
India is the most complicated jurisdiction to get right. Gotham's legal ontology records each holding, bench and statute version. Its agents read every later judgment that cites a case and show, point by point and with the passage, whether it was followed, distinguished, doubted or overruled.
The whole matter, not only research
Gotham takes research into the matter: draft in the court's format, review a data room in a sheet, build the chronology, track the case by CNR, then stamp, sign and file.
Your data stays in India
Gotham stores Indian customers' data in India and holds SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001. LexisNexis does not publish data regions for Protégé.
A published price
Gotham Junior costs ₹499 a month plus GST, and firms can run a two-week pilot of Gotham Pro on a live matter. LexisNexis prices each customer separately.
What Lexis+ AI does well
Editorial content and heritage
LexisNexis has more than 150 years of attorney-curated content, Practical Guidance in 20+ practice areas, Halsbury's Laws in the UK, and the Madras Law Journal in India.
Citation checking
Shepard's Verify flags citations in AI answers and drafts that it cannot verify. In India, Case Analysis India checks the status and treatment of cases.
Microsoft 365 and document systems
Lexis Create+ works in Word and Outlook, Protégé works with Microsoft 365 Copilot, and both connect to iManage, NetDocuments, SharePoint and other systems.
How to test both fairly
- Pick one real, bounded piece of work, not a demo question.
- Give both products the same documents and the same question.
- Agree beforehand what a good answer needs: the right authorities, pinpoint citations, the right format.
- Have a qualified lawyer check every answer against the source.
- Time the corrections, not just the first draft.
- Check permissions, data deletion, exports and audit logs as well as output quality.
Include an Indian research question that needs Supreme Court and High Court authority, then check how each tool reports later treatment of the cases it cites, and how far each one takes you towards a filed draft.
Which one should you pick?
Pick Gotham if
- You want one platform for research, drafting, review and filing.
- Indian law matters to your practice, alongside other countries.
- You need enterprise controls and your data stored in your own country.
- You want to prove it on a live matter in a two-week pilot.
Stay with Lexis+ AI if
- Your lawyers rely on Shepard's or Halsbury's.
- Your firm already holds a LexisNexis subscription.
- You mainly need research, not the rest of the matter.
- You work mostly inside Word and Outlook.
